Silver Bangles
If you've never been able to find a bangle that fits you
then this project is perfect for you!
Learn all the traditional silversmithing and forging techniques you need to create stunning sterling silver bangles! Choose to make either a traditional hammered bangle with a texure that catches the light beautifully, or lighter bangles with curves and waves created using metal dies - the choice is yours!
No previous experience of jewellery making is needed so this is a perfect project for beginners. You will be guided through everything you need to know step-by-step, from how to get the right size to soldering, hammering and polishing.
Is this topic a half day or full day's tuition?
A half day is enough time to make a single hammered bangle or a pair of wavy bangles. However, if you'd like to make more than just a couple of bangles or combine two half-day projects in one day then you are more than welcome!
Is any previous experience needed?
No, none at all! I will take you through everything you need step by step. This a great project for a fun day out, and it's also an ideal project for starting your jewellery making journey as it teaches basic skills that are important for other projects.
What are the material costs?
Materials (sterling silver wire) are available for purchase on the day. The exact cost of the materials will be determined by the size and therefore weight of the bangle you make and the price of silver on the day, however material costs for an average classic hammered bangle is usually approximately £28-£35. A wavy bangle uses approximately half as much silver as that.
