Silver Bangles Workshop - Friday 20th October 2023
Learn all the traditional silversmithing and forging techniques you need to create stunning sterling silver bangles!
Choose from a classic hammered bangle, a thinner wavy design or a twisted ribbon bangle - or maybe one of each, the choice is yours! This workshop is perfect for beginners to jewellery making as it teaches many of the basic skills needed for more advanced skills, however those with previous experience will also find their skills tested and improved by the end of the session. You will have time to make at least two bangles.
14 to 16 year olds are welcome but will need to be accompanied by a paying adult
Tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes are included in the workshop fee, but lunch is not provided.
Date and Venue
10am-2.30pm Friday 20th October 2023 at Fairways House, Mount Pleasant Road, Southampton, SO14 0QB. Full directions will be emailed.
Materials
Materials (sterling silver wire) are available for purchase on the day. The exact cost of the materials will be determined by the size and therefore weight of the bangle you make and the price of silver on the day, however material costs for an average classic hammered bangle is approximately £20. Wavy and Twisted Ribbon bangles use less silver.
Tools and Equipment
The workshop fee includes use of all the tools and equipment needed. All workshops include worksheets to take home with you and discuss tools, equipment, materials and health and safety considerations.
Cancellations
Cancellations of workshop places and private tuition bookings within four weeks of the event will forfeit the workshop fee/private tuition deposit unless I am able to find someone to take your place. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
