The weekly evening classes will run on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, 7-10pm in ten week blocks. They are designed to be flexible, with the support and guidance you need to make your projects and learn new techniques in a relaxed, creative environment, with encouragement from me to keep moving your jewellery making skills and confidence forward!
The classes are suitable for all abilities. Complete beginners will be taught how to make how to make a simple bangle and pendant before moving onto more complex projects.
Parking is available at the Sorting Office Studios, and wheelchair access is also available. Just as importantly, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits will be supplied to fuel the class!
All the Spring term places are now full, thank you! If you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a place please contact me.
Tuesday 12th January to Tuesday 22nd March 7pm-10pm, halfterm break Tuesday 16th February

£200 per person for a ten-week course.
The cost of the materials that you will use for your projects is extra and will be dependant on the design of your projects. To give you some ideas, as at 23rd February 2015 the material costs for a bangle would be approximately £8 to £15 depending on the thickness of the wire you chose. A piece of sterling silver sheet 10cm by 10cm suitable for making pendants and earrings and many other projects costs approximately £50 - and that would make lots of pieces of jewellery! During the course I will teach you how to recycle your silver scrap - nothing ever goes to waste!
I will have a small supply of the most regularly used silver sheet and wire in the studio for you to purchase if you wish, and the cost of this will be worked out by weight on that day's silver price. However, learning how to order your own materials is an important skill in itself so I will encourage you to do that as well!
The studio is equipped with all the tools we need to create beautiful pieces of jewellery and learn many new techniques, and I frequently (maybe too frequently!) invest in new tools. However, if you wish to buy some tools to use at home then I will advise you on that.
